Who knew that I would be so impressed? Once you are there and actually see how huge this shuttle is, it leaves you speechless. I also was really moved by the pictures they had of the challenger. I was in 4th grade when the challenger went up. In Florida anytime a shuttle took off, the school would go out to see it leave it's mark in the sky. Of course the challenger was made to be a special day because of the school teacher who was chosen. I knew it was a big deal when it happened, but I haven't thought of it that way since and that I witnessed that part of history. I feel lucky to have been able to go and see the shuttle and that it lives here in LA.

little doll

The little doll's story

I have recently started to help out at one of my favorite antique shops. I watch the store for the owner for an hour twice a week. While I'm there, the girls hang out inside or in the car (listening to books or drawing) Anyway, for the past few times we've gone, Mae has had her eye on a little stash of dolls for sale. Well, I finally caved and let her pick one. She was so excited to bring her home. She rushed in the house ran upstairs on a mission to collect things for the doll. Meanwhile I had started to make dinner and wasn't paying any attention to what she was doing. I noticed her setting up and sitting in the middle of the living room floor. (with her big sparkly bow on). I asked her what she was doing.. her response: I'm having a picnic with my new doll. I had to capture this moment, so I started taking pictures. While she was fixing her dress the little doll's legs fell off. She was so upset. Kevin tried to put them back and after some time he was able to get them back in. Not realizing he had put them on backwards. No worries he fixed the legs and all is good, just a lot
