swirly
The other day Kevin and I were sitting at the table with Anne talking, not paying much attention to Mae drawing quietly. I happened to look over at her and I caught this beautiful moment. She was creating this patterned pathway. I noticed her counting and figuring out what color she wanted to go next. It was awesome. I had such a surge of love for her. I had to capture it. The first picture is proud, shy and then really proud!

postcard mondays
A couple of weeks ago we sat down and had a huge art day. The table was covered, watercolors were out and ideas were flying. I cut the paper to 4 x6 for postcards and let them have at it! I love all of the ideas they came up with. We decided to send postcards out to family and friends every monday. fun fun!!

game board fun
So, we are really into watching, reading and playing "little house on the prairie" these days. So we decided to make a trivia board game based on the books. We found the blank board game at a school supply store along with the game pawns and nifty yellow dice. We had the idea to make a trivia board game that will go with any theme. All we have to do is change the question cards. Chloe and I spent the better have of the morning designing the game. (with help from papa via phone from work) and I'm happy to say it's finished! We had the best time inventing this game. Chloe had so many great ideas! She created the DANGER area of the game.. with shark infested waters. We had a blast! She is already planning our next game...
chalk town
The driveway became a town today. The girls drew homes, shops and parking lots for their cars. It was amazing to see just how fast urban sprawl occurs. First they had houses, then they needed things to do in their town then shops and of course they discovered they needed parking! What a fun time... until it rained! My favorite was the mushroom shaped plant store.
