halloween at the park

This years Halloween game was "witches brew" (a fishing pole type game) by Mae 

and Chloe made a "monster ball toss"

 

this year we couldn't make it to riley's farm so we tried a different pumpkin patch in pomona. It  wasn't as nice as riley's but at least we didn't miss out on going to a patch.

these days

these days are being filled with embroidery, drawing, munchkin, canning 

and keeping our toys cool by their pool.

rain?

 

It rained in September! I can't believe it. It was so hot that morning but in the early afternoon the sky started to grey and a distant faint cool breeze came in threw our windows. You could smell rain, fresh cool rain. I looked outside in disbelief, to check if what I was feeling and smelling was true. Sure enough it was starting to rain! An amazing pause from the intense heat. It felt like the the world had stopped. It was so peaceful, even the cats came to the door to have a look. Our summer rain lasted for a full thirty minutes, not long enough to water the garden but long enough to soak up all of it's beauty.

 In June we started work on our front porch and windows. The wood around the windows and the porch flooring was in pretty bad shape. With help from our favorite painter Rafino and Kevin all of the wood was stripped and the holes were patched. Once the floor and windows were painted the stucco looked pretty shabby, so we decided to paint the front of the house as well. Unfortunately that's all we could afford for now, but we will continue the rest of the painting ourselves. But we think it looks AMAZING!
