Before going to the park, Chloe found the face paint. She decided she wanted to appear badly injured. She added an ace bandage to her knee and a wrist brace. She wanted the make up to appear realistic. Of course Mae got in on the action.
15 minutes before going to the park, Mae decided she didn't want any make up. She spent a while in the bathroom with a washrag to come out and say she couldn't get the black out of her eyebrow. Meanwhile her face was beet red from scrubbing. Chloe was very successful! Mom's were asking me all day what happened to Chloe's cheek.
So ferdy the cat has ripped the lining from under our box spring. It's lying on the floor in several places. The cats love it. They climb in there and enjoy peace and quiet from the kids and sleep for hours. It looks like little hammocks. So:
Mae runs down stairs to the living room where I'm hand sewing. (she's very excited)
Mae: Momma I just went under your bed to visit ferdy's house.
Me: you fit under there?
Mae: yes... I told ferdy "it was wonderful visiting your house but I have to go"
I have heard tale of Ventura's many thrift and book stores so we hopped in the car this weekend and decided to have a look. Sweet aunt Jennifer tagged along and spent some time with the girls at the beach. (for some reason they didn't want to join kevin and I at the shops) It was so nice to shop and spend time with kevin alone. After we explored the town we headed down to the beach to pick up the ladies. The girls told us all about the dolphins they saw close to the shore. Chloe made a "treasure chamber" from all of the things they collected on the beach. Of course mae found some rocks! I forget how much the girls love the beach.. I need to remember how simple it is to take them for the day. Before we started our way back home we had to stop at rocket fizz for some retro candies! (mae got a lollipop the size of her head) she was so wiped out from her fun day and lolli she crashed all the way home.
This weekend was a record low for southern California. I over heard that we haven't had snow since the 4o's? It started raining on Saturday morning a chilly 35 degrees and poof! Hail! I mean lots of it! The yard was covered with beautiful white snow! The girls instantly rain outside and tried capturing it with their hands and then thought better of that and got cups. The hail stayed frozen for about 45 minutes. While outside enjoying our little snow play, we heard the whole neighborhood come to life. Kids and adults all running around celebrating, taking pictures and laughing. Truly a cool experience!
