an unschooling day

Our day started with measuring cups, fractions and writing during breakfast, which inspired Chloe to bake some cookies by herself, which led to her wanting to learn how to cook meals. Mae's writing and reading practice led to her drawing and tracing books she can read words out of, which led to her drawing her hands with nail polish which inspired her to run upstairs to be fancy today. (see photo with dress and sunglasses... don't forget the shoes) After Chloe finished her cookies, we all went outside for a little gardening which led to planting a tomato plant and starting our sunflower seeds which made me remember to show the girls our three little tomatoes that are starting to grow which led to harvesting the last of our peas which led to giving the chickens are yard waste and a quick composting lesson. So fractions, art, reading, gardening, composting, planting, transplanting seedlings, cooking lessons, kitchen safety and it's only noon!!!

A sweet friend of ours was asked to keep a record of her unschooling week which
inspired me to blog about ours.
